Hitchhiked from Ft. Lee, Virginia (Petersburg) where I was attending Rigger School, which school terminated my attendance before graduation. I am wearing my paratroop wings on my chest. Also, buckle and button line on blouse lined up in a military fashion. I was a Private E-2 making 5 a month plus three hots and a cot a day. Allan served with Cav in Nam.
In background is number 841; the address where we lived on Thomas Road.
Look at the funky shoes on Allan, maybe tennis shoes, and I have on Corcoran jump boots, high shine.

I was in 2d SF when I got off active duty.
When was this artifact painted on the courtyard? Ford Ord story has Ranger tab on Courtyard. Link Omitted.
One aspect of the Ord artifact, the ranger tab, is the award for completing ranger school, not being assigned to a ranger unit. WWII unit patch of Rangers, was different. My late Colonel Ray J. Glaze served in the 2d Ranger Battalion in WWII. He wore the 2d Ranger Patch on his right shoulder symbolizing his combat as a member of the 2d. Awarded The Distinguished Service Cross is the second highest military decoration that can be awarded to a member of the United States Army, Silver Star is the third highest, and also, Colonel Glaze was awarded the Purple Heart.
He died on a parachute jump with the 2d Special Forces Group, Headquarters & Headquarters Company (U.S. Army Reserve) at Clinton County, Ohio Air Force Base. So goes the war. Make it through WWII, but stateside gets you. c'est le vie. That's life.
•The Silver Star is the third highest military decoration that can be awarded to a member of any branch of the United States Armed Forces. It is also the third highest award given for (in the face of the enemy).

I may try this style of bolero for that navy eyelet I have, sans pocket; I'll underline it with something lighter colored, though I'm not entirely sure how to deal with the facings/et cetera. If I opt for a white underlining, I'll be able to get away with a white woven fusible interfacing (I have some nice stuff from fashion sewing supply), so that may be what I end up doing.
Uhm, you know, when I suddenly discover there are like 47 hours in a day and I don't need sleep any more and I start cranking out projects like sugar cookies.

My therapy to escape is her journey to freedom. She lives in an fantastical land, where society is rigid and one must behave according to rule. There are no other choices. She is drowning in society, and dreaming of escape. She begins her escape. She is being chased, she is running, her dress is morphing. She can taste the freedom from behind the city walls. She is afraid she may not make it, her dress gets ripped. She is almost free, she is climbing the city walls, her dress suddenly changes color. She is free. Everything is beautiful.
Masha Ruginets, the designer and owner of “Masha” has loved fashion her whole life. She started designing at a young age, first making clothes for barbie dolls and her first pair of pj pants at the tender age of 13. She currently holds a degree in Fashion Design from Parsons, as well as a B.Com from the University of Toronto. Masha has intensively studied the techniques of the pattern-magic book, drape-drape books, as well as the transformational reconstruction and subtraction cutting techniques. These techniques focus on a new way of design, void of darts and princess lines, meanwhile preserving a beautiful silhouettes – something Masha is very passionate about. Her work has been featured in the Parson’s Spring Festival and Masha currently works out of Toronto, focusing on developing her online boutique www.imobsessedwith.ca, as well as developing an avant-garde line under the label “Masha”.

From a fashion shoot I did in Preston today for Jenna Wilson, a stylist who found me through ModelMayhem.
It was an overcast but bright day, so I spent most of my time at ISO 100 trying to get the background down to the kind of exposure I wanted. Give me a dim warehouse any day.

Lalka is a new generic Lilli - in the tradition of Hong Kong Lilli. She is 29cm tall {or 11.5 inches}. She is hand assembled and finished in Europe. The body parts are painted and strung with elastic. The face is airbrushed and hand-painted, then sealed. Everything is done as a proper factory process, using professional techniques and high-grade materials. The viscose hair is set into the pate of the head by hand, then glued. The pate is attached with a steel screw. The hair is set by hand. Beautiful Lilli wears classic fashions. She is a stunner with her knowing eyes, her flopsy spit curl or woven chignon. Lalka's quality and attention to detail are guaranteed to thrill.
Lalka is a limited edition. Both doll and outfit are numbered on an authentic sticker on the top of the sleek "cellophane" storage / display tube. Lalka comes complete with a miniature tabloid newspaper, a heavy white stand and "gold" metal spike to support her. Lalka is heavier in weight than her sister, Lola, and is heavier than vintage "Hong Kong Lilli" dolls. Lalka weighs much the same as a 1950's Lilli doll.
Brand new European Lilli Laka has some subtle changes to make her even more luscious than her predecessor, Lola. She has longer, more rounded arms and a new hand - just right for showing off her painted nails. Her head has been re-sculpted, with chubbier cheeks, a delicate pixie chin, cute little nose and a beautiful, elegant nape to her neck. She is far more like a mid-century original than any other Lilli-inspired doll made to date. Her hair, in classic ponytail, is viscose and finished off with a black plastic tie. Yes, she has a "pate" attached by a screw, just like the original doll. Some Lalka's model a woven chignon, sporting a hairstyle that best compliments their elegant fashion ensembles.
All new Lilli Lalka dolls are completely hand-finished, each and every one is now different, as every face is done by hand. No two are alike. This is NOT a production-line doll. Lilli Lalka's are all little characters with individual style. Every doll is stunning or they get chucked in the trash can!
